The Southwest Middlesex Animal Shelter in Glencoe is overrun with cats and kittens, and as of Thursday received a few more. A pretty bad moment when someone left 6 kittens taped up in a box in the middle of the Strathroy Walmart parking lot, super dehydrated & starving, with no food or holes for air for who knows how long.
Thankfully a couple parked beside the box to have a look inside and were told to contact the shelter. The kittens are all now eating & drinking and a vet appointment will be scheduled for them soon. Shelter owner Jodi Bedore tells myFM just how bad the situation has gotten.
Bedore says they’ve been taking in a lot of animals, especially cats.
Bedore says they’ve brainstormed the idea of a cat sanctuary to help them out and have purchased a 20 foot sea container for that purpose. They’ve launched a GoFundMe on their Facebook page, if you’d like to help them out hoping for 25-thousand dollars.
If anyone is able to help out, they would greatly appreciate monetary donations to their email swmanimalshelter@gmail.com as they are running low on funds and vet appointments are getting pushed due to the amount of surrenders they have at this time.
