A national fundraiser that provides support for caregivers will be held for the first time in Peterborough later this month.
Being held nationally for a third time, Strides for Caregivers is being organized and hosted locally by Upper Canada Fuel and Burner on October 20th.
The five-kilometre walk starts at 10 a.m. at 660 The Queensway and continues along the Rotary Greenway Trail. Food sales and Halloween-related crafts will also be featured as part of the event.
Derek Maudsley, a dispatcher with Upper Canada Fuel and Burner, says the bar is being set high in terms of the dollar goal.
Maudsley says for employees and customers, and their families, the event provides a welcome opportunity to come together for a fun day in support of a worthy cause.
The event, adds Maudsley, goes rain or shine, noting there’s a reason behind that.
