Premier Doug Ford has confirmed this morning he will call a provincial election on Wednesday. myFM has also learned that Lucan-Biddulph Mayor Cathy Burghardt-Jesson will once again be the Liberal candidate for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. That word this morning from Dianne MacDougall, chair for the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Liberal riding association. Current MPP Steve Pinsonneault is expected to run again for the Conservatives and we’re still waiting to hear from other candidates.
Pinsonneault was elected in the 2024 Lambton-Kent-Middlesex by-election winning with 15,649 votes, or 56.85% of all votes cast, while Burghardt-Jesson, earned the second-most votes 6,208, running for the first time at the provincial level.
