If you live near Strathroy’s Walmart, Twin Elms, or Collins Way, you might recall two stories myFM ran in 2024 about a proposed development on the west side of Saxton Road, just south of Walmart. Initially, the project included two seven-story apartment buildings with 160 units, offering a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.
Last week at council, it was revealed that the plans have changed. The developer has submitted a revised application for a larger parcel of land, increasing the size from 1.822 hectares to 3.14 hectares. The new proposal includes two eight-story apartment buildings with a total of 184 units, along with 36 back-to-back townhouse units.
Council accepted the information for review only, and there were some residents at council to express concerns about the project’s proximity, noise, sight lines, and potential traffic issues.
