Strathroy’s Peavey Mart is closing, along with all locations across the province. To be exact, Peavey Industries has announced it will be closing locations across Ontario and Nova Scotia. Strathroy’s location was originally not on the list, but staff confirmed to myFM that they found out they were closing late last week.
This includes 90 Peavey Mart stores and six MainStreet Hardware locations. The company says it had to make this tough choice because of rising costs, low consumer confidence, and supply chain problems. They’ve also filed for creditor protection, which gives them time to figure out their next steps while closing their stores and selling off products. Sales at all stores will start right away as the company works to wind down operations.
