Three people are facing charges after police seized drugs, firearms, and cash following an arrest in Peterborough earlier this week.
On Wednesday, members of the OPP’s Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement unit, located a suspect in Peterborough believed to be involved in drug trafficking. Officers observed the individual enter a vehicle, which later pulled into a parking lot on Lansdowne Street. Police then moved in, arresting three people and discovering a handgun and ammunition inside the vehicle.
A search warrant was later executed at the driver’s residence, where police arrested another individual wanted in Northumberland. Officers also seized a shotgun, a prohibited rifle, and ammunition.
Wallace Groves, 42, and Leanne Lockhart, 31, both of Trent Hills, and David Liebenow, 62, of Norwood, are facing multiple firearms-related charges. Groves is also charged with drug trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, and breaching a recognizance order.
During the arrests, police seized 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, 56 oxycodone pills, cash, three firearms, ammunition, and three cellphones.
All three accused were held in custody for a bail hearing in Peterborough.
