Strathroy-Caradoc Councillor Greg Willsie has been cleared of wrongdoing following an investigation by the Integrity Commissioner. Strathroy-Caradoc Council set to receive a report under the communications section Monday where a formal complaint was filed on October 15th, 2024, alleging that Willsie violated the Code of Conduct for Members of Council and Local Boards.
The complaint was based on a social media post Willsie made on September 29th, 2024. The post discussed a draft of the Service Delivery Review report set to be presented to Council. It was alleged that the post contained negative comments about municipal staff, potentially breaching the Code.
Following a fair and impartial investigation, the Integrity Commissioner found that Willsie had not violated any rules. He was given an opportunity to respond to the allegations, and the complainant chose not to reply further.
With the report concluding that no misconduct occurred, the case is now closed. Willsie remains in good standing with the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc.
Council set to go Tuesday at 6pm.
