Two local hockey players have been named to the NHL Central Scouting final rankings, putting them in the spotlight ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.
Noah Jenken, from Ilderton, has landed at number 153 on the list of North American skaters. Jenken split his 2024-25 season between the London Knights and the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). With London, he had 7 assists in 30 games. After joining Guelph, he added 2 goals and 7 assists over 23 games. Known as a steady presence on the blue line, Jenken continued to show growth as a reliable defenseman.
Also making the list is Evan Van Gorp of Watford, ranked at number 193 among North American skaters. Van Gorp played a full season with the London Knights, scoring 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points in 64 games. He also recorded 4 game-winning goals and helped the team through playoff action, where he added 4 assists in 6 games. The Knights continue their playoff run on Thursday against the Erie Otters. London is up 3-0.
Jenken and Van Gorp played for the Strathroy Rockets before making the jump to the OHL.
Both players now have their names listed among the top young talent in the country, and their hard work on the ice has caught the attention of NHL scouts. The recognition is a big step for both Jenken and Van Gorp as they look toward the draft and their futures in professional hockey.
