Middlesex County OPP officers are getting ready to help keep roads safe this Easter long weekend.
As part of the Canada Road Safety Strategy 2025, officers will be taking part in the annual Easter Weekend Traffic Campaign from early Friday, April 18 to late Monday, April 21. The campaign focuses on reminding drivers to buckle up and make safe choices on the road.
Police will be stopping vehicles where drivers or passengers aren’t wearing seatbelts. Failing to wear a seatbelt can lead to a $240 fine and two demerit points. Officers will also be watching for distracted drivers, speeders, impaired drivers, and anyone driving aggressively.
“As we head into the Easter weekend, we’re urging drivers to make smart choices,” said Interim Detachment Commander Michael McConnell. “Buckle up, stay focused, and drive sober to help keep everyone safe.”
