The London Knights secured their third consecutive Western Conference title, defeating the Kitchener Rangers 4-2 in Game 4 on Wednesday to sweep the series. With a flawless 12-0 playoff run, the Knights join the 2022 Hamilton Bulldogs and 2019 Ottawa 67’s as just the third team in OHL history to reach the Championship Series without a loss.
They also become the first team ever to win the Wayne Gretzky Trophy—awarded to the Western Conference champion—three years in a row since its introduction in 1998-99. This marks the ninth time the Knights have claimed the trophy and places them alongside the 1993 Soo Greyhounds as the only teams in league history to make three straight appearances in the OHL Championship Series.
London now awaits the Eastern Conference winner between the Oshawa Generals and Barrie Colts, with Oshawa holding a 3-0 lead heading into Game 4 tonight.
