A week’s worth of sweet treats has turned into a major boost for patient care in Lindsay.
The annual Smile Cookie campaign at five Tim Hortons locations in the city raised $21,066.55 for the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation. Proceeds from the campaign, which ran from April 28 to May 4, will help fund vital upgrades including the Emergency Department and ICU expansion, as well as advanced diagnostic and bedside equipment.
The local Tim Hortons restaurants are owned by Nick and Meaghan Chapman, who selected the Ross as this year’s partner charity. Three of their stores are located along Kent Street West, with the others on County Road 36 at Mount Hope Street and on Highway 35 south of Highway 7.
Foundation board chair Mona Malcolm Sharman joined the Chapmans last week along with operations manager Mark Hutchinson and general manager Nancy Hutchinson to mark the campaign’s success.
“To everyone who made a point of visiting one of Nick and Meaghan’s restaurants and buying a Smile Cookie knowing it’s for a good cause … thank you,” said Malcolm Sharman. “You might wonder how much impact a cookie can make, but together—as a community—we can make big things happen for our local hospital. With every gesture of generosity, you make a difference.”
