A high school student from Strathroy District Collegiate Institute (SDCI) is making a big difference in her community.
Molly, a co-op student working at the Women’s Rural Resource Centre, has been helping with their Community Food Cupboard Program. This program provides important items like non-perishable food, toiletries, and feminine hygiene products to families who need extra support.
During her placement, Molly noticed just how quickly donated items are picked up, and how the need never seems to slow down. Wanting to help even more, she decided to take action by organizing a special event called the “Care and Can Drop.”
On Wednesday, May 29th, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m., the community is invited to drop off donations at the Community Entrance at SDCI, located at 361 Second Street. Items like canned food, shampoo, soap, or period products are all welcome.
