Seasons Strathroy Retirement Community resident Arlene Johnson has been named a semi-finalist in the 2025 Remarkable Residents® program. This long-standing annual program, now in its twelfth year, is a signature program that celebrates the contributions and successes of the residents who call Seasons Retirement Communities home.
To honour Arlene’s achievement, Seasons Strathroy hosted a special celebration at the community, where residents, team members, and loved ones came together to recognize her inspiring accomplishment.
Arlene Johnson considers this period of her life, her time at Seasons Retirement Community, to be the most joyful. Arlene had a long and successful teaching career, working with Adult Learners. She worked hard to educate and provide her students with resources they otherwise might not have had. She organized the school’s food bank and helped students access support by connecting them with the welfare officer, social worker or school psychiatrists. Arlene took pride in providing essentials like blankets and food as well as offering emotional support to her students.
Today, Arlene is an active member of the Seasons Strathroy community. She holds charities and services which benefit cancer patients and survivors close to her heart. Arlene, herself, first moved to Seasons Strathroy to recover from cancer surgery and chemotherapy. If chosen as a Remarkable Resident, her charity of choice would be the Cancer Research Society with a particular focus on pancreatic cancer.
