Changes coming to some area schools. In late May, the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) approved changes to school attendance boundaries as part of the Adelaide Metcalfe and Strathroy-Caradoc Attendance Area Review. The primary objectives were to better balance student enrollment among schools, reduce the use of portable classrooms, and shorten student travel times.
Additionally, the review supports the school board’s business case to the Ministry of Education for a new elementary school in the Strathroy area. The earliest any of the approved attendance area changes would take effect is September 2026. The decisions made involve multiple Strathroy-Caradoc schools and for those decisions please head to our website.
Key decisions include:
Approval of revised attendance boundaries for Caradoc North Public School, Mary Wright Public School, North Meadows Public School, Adelaide-W.G. MacDonald Public School, and the future Strathroy elementary school, as outlined in Appendix A of the April 8, 2025, report titled “Adelaide Metcalfe and Strathroy-Caradoc Elementary Panel Attendance Area Review: Final Attendance Area Review Report.” These changes are scheduled to take effect in September 2026 and will be phased in as detailed in the appendix, coinciding with the opening of the new Strathroy school.
A “legacy agreement option” will be offered to students entering Grade 8 in the implementation year of each phase, as well as to their siblings. This option allows them to remain at their current school—with transportation provided if eligible—for the remainder of that school year.
