Strathroy-Caradoc Council last week reviewed a report on the Caradoc Landfill site, which has been closed for some time. Recent groundwater tests revealed possible signs of leachate, sparking discussions on ongoing monitoring and the need for environmental accountability. Several residents voiced concerns about potential long-term effects. In response, Contractor BM Ross has suggested two monitoring options: one focused on municipal land and another that may involve nearby private properties, subject to approval. Council has asked for the ‘Closure Plan’ to be submitted before making any further decisions on the matter.
