Strathroy-Caradoc council has some big decisions to make about the wastewater plants in both Strathroy and Mount Brydges which, as we learned last week, the municipality hasn’t been in compliance with the Ministry over the last 7 years specifically with the Mount Brydges site.
Council will hold a workshop on July 28th to assess the current situation in the village and determine a path forward. Mayor Colin Grantham tells myFM these are important issues.
Mayor Grantham tells myFM, the municipality is following all requests by the ministry.
The Mount Brydges wastewater plant requires upgrades that have not yet been done and could require an entirely new facility.
Strathroy’s is facing serious capacity and maintenance challenges which will require a second lagoon system. To address this, a second basin is proposed, allowing proper cleaning and upkeep. Construction is expected to begin in fall 2025 and wrap up by early 2028.
