A former employee and a relative are facing fraud and theft charges following a series of incidents at a local business.
Police say officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T Unit uncovered 12 incidents between April and June 2025 where the employee either failed to charge the full price for items or allowed them to leave unpaid. The business reported losses of nearly $1,350.
“This case highlights how ongoing investigations and community partnerships help us hold individuals accountable,” police said in a release.
A 74-year-old man faces eight counts of fraud under $5,000 and three counts of theft under $5,000, while a 68-year-old woman is charged with five counts of fraud and three counts of theft.
Both were released on undertakings and are scheduled to appear in court on September 2nd.
