Strathroy-Caradoc is taking steps toward a greener future. At Council this week, Ward Two Councillor Greg Willsie introduced a motion to explore the implementation of a Green Bin program, which is a curbside collection service for organic waste such as food scraps, yard trimmings, and other compostable materials.
Common across many Ontario municipalities, Green Bin programs help reduce landfill use and encourage environmentally responsible waste disposal. Council did approve the motion, and they directed municipal staff to prepare a report on the feasibility of introducing a Green Bin Organic Recycling Program as part of the 2026 budget planning process.
