Adelaide Metcalfe Council has appointed Andrew Campbell to fill the vacant council seat left by Arend Noordhof, who stepped down in May after moving out of the township. The decision was made during the regular council meeting on July 21, 2025.
Council launched a public selection process earlier this summer, choosing an application-based approach under the guidelines of the Municipal Act. The call for applicants was promoted on the township’s website, social media, and in the Middlesex Banner, resulting in six eligible candidates: David Bolton, Andrew Campbell, Eric Dennison, Lisa Early, Mary Ann Hendrikx, and Carlos Trindade.
After reviewing the applications and holding discussions during the July 21 meeting, council publicly selected Campbell to assume the role. Municipal officials thanked all applicants for their interest and highlighted the strong community engagement throughout the process.
Campbell will be officially sworn in at the next council meeting on August 11. He will then begin orientation with township staff and join council in time for key initiatives, including upcoming budget deliberations.
While council was permitted to deliberate in closed session, the final vote was held in public, as required by provincial legislation.
