One of four Fleming College graduates nominated for a prestigious Premier’s Award says his nomination serves as a reminder of those who have inspired him.
Dave Conroy, who founded The Little Building Company in Doro-Dummer in 2015, is one of four Fleming nominees, the others being Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Ontario CEO Dr. Michelle Acorn; IVF Warrior fertility support platform founder Cheryl Dowling; and Peterborough Musicfest executive director Tracey Randall.
Each is in the running for the annual distinction that celebrates significant social and economic contributions that Ontario college grads make on a provincial and global scale.
A graduate of Fleming’s Sustainable Building and Design program, Conroy says his college experience, and specifically relationships formed at the time, proved to be a major factor in his company’s success.
Not unlike many post-secondary students in Peterborough who have come here to study from abroad, Conroy determined early on this that is where he wanted to live and work.
The Little Building Company, says Conroy, has maintained a relationship with Fleming College.
This year’s Premier’s Award recipients will be announced and recognized November 25th at a gala event in Toronto.
