To help lower operating costs while continuing to serve the community, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will close its main office at the Shops on Sydenham in Strathroy effective October 31, 2025. The dental clinic, located in the same mall, will remain open and be reconfigured to host monthly vaccine and sexual health clinics. The Health Unit is also exploring the use of mobile clinics to further support residents.
Those dropping off well water samples will now be directed to the dental clinic. Updated signage will clearly outline which services are available, along with their times and locations.

“The current physical space is under-utilized by both staff and clients,” says Dr. Alex Summers, the public health unit’s medical officer of health, “but the services we provide there are important to residents. Following an evaluation, we’ve decided to close the physical space and instead offer the current services differently with a minimum of disruption to the community.”
“Most clients will be seen in the same building, by the same caring professional staff,” adds Summers. “Our commitment is to maintain service levels in Middlesex County by providing them differently – rather than losing them. We will closely monitor the success of this arrangement and adjust our service delivery model as required.”
