The term is many hands make light work, but, after Thursday’s Marks All Hands On Deck food drive for Kawartha Food Share, many hands are making bellies full.
Staff and friends of Oldies 96.7 and Freq 90.5 set up at grocery stores around the city for the annual food drive.
Residents stepped up in a big way in support, and help bring in more than 2 tons or more than 4100 pounds of food to help stock the shelves at the Neal Drive warehouse.
The food drive also brought in thousands of dollars in donations.
General Manager Ashlee Aitken says it means a lot to see so many people take the time to help out.
She says that the timing of the food drive works out well as back-to-school season is right around the corner.
Aitken adds that this food drive is a great kick start with fall right around the corner
