The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority here in Strathroy has declared a level 1 low water advisory…and residents are being asked to do their part to help out.
The water condition is declared when a watershed receives 80% or less of the normal amount of precipitation over a 3-month period.
Level 1 is the lowest of three levels, and the first indication of potential water supply problems.
We’re all being asked to cut back on our water use by limiting certain activities for the time being including watering lawns, pressure washing and washing vehicles.
Reducing water consumption in the watershed will help reduce the risk of more severe Low Water Level declarations in the future.
