Three childhood buddies, who grew up in Strathroy, have written a book about the town. The just-released book is called Roots Revisited: A Hometown Study. One of the authors, David Marshall, joined myFM recently from Australia, where he lives now. He tells us how the book came about during chats between the three men, now in their 60’s, through Covid.
The other two authors are Steven Verrier and David Riddell, and Marshall says the book has just been released.
As the promotional material notes: “Decades after pulling up stakes, three sixty-something Canadians living in three different countries are drawn back to the town in which they spent their formative years and built their lifelong friendship.
Marshall touches on some of the material in the book.
The many backgrounds of Strathroy residents is also touched on, along with who left and who stayed in the town and even where people like to spend their summers. A book launch will be held at the Strathroy Library tonight from 5-7 with Marshall joining through Zoom and Verrier and Riddell in attendance.
