The business itself has a long history of great food and great people named after the baby brother of the family. Started in 1991 Owner Tasia Barkas and her husband opened up the Pinewood Restaurant in Parkhill. Six and a half years later the family moved the business to Ailsa Craig, but unfortunately a fire destroyed the business, eventually taking the family back into their original Parkhill location as Niko’s Restaurant. Daughter and General Manager Pana Barkas-Kenny says the business changed owners a few times.
Eventually they made their way down highway 81 to Strathroy and found a spot at The Shops on Sydenham and had a soft opening November 13th.
She says since the soft opening, its been pretty busy.
And for locals who haven’t experienced Niko’s Restaurant yet, Pana says come on in.
Niko’s Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are open 7 days a week 7am-8pm, and their authentic Greek menu launches in the next few weeks. You can find more information on Instagram and Facebook.
