A refresher course for you on when Strathroy-Caradoc plows head out during a snowfall.
Class 3 roads, those are the busier roads in town like Front Street and Head, get plowed after 8cm’s of snow has fallen. Plows are deployed within 12 hours after the snow accumulation has ended.
Class 4 roads have similar rules…those are the rural roads…except that the plows deploy within 16 hours of the snow stopping.
And Class 5 roads, the less travelled side streets in town, are plowed after 10 cm’s of accumulation and plows deploy within 24 hours after the snow stops.
The municipality points out that in many cases, winter service levels exceed these minimum standards.
