The Strathroy Rockets are getting ready to celebrate a big milestone. The team will host Alumni Night tomorrow (Saturday, December 13th) at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre to mark the 60th anniversary of the hockey club.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. They can meet Rocky the team mascot, enjoy food and drinks before the game, and visit a special display from the Strathroy-Caradoc Museum. The museum will showcase Rockets and Blades history and memorabilia on the second floor.
Barry Irwin and Juri Lees, who were part of the first Strathroy Rockets Jr. B team in the 1965–66 inaugural season, will be on hand to drop the puck.
After the final buzzer, everyone is invited to a meet-and-greet with the team at the Launchpad upstairs, and the game is also being featured as a GOHL spotlight matchup.
Former Rockets and Blades players are invited to attend the game against the Sarnia Legionnaires. Alumni can register for free admission by contacting the team at Colleen@strathroyrockets.ca.
