This Christmas season, myFM is spreading kindness to people in the community who may not be able to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. Through the annual myFM Project Poinsettia, hundreds of bright Christmas plants and warm holiday wishes are being delivered to local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and senior centres. While the gift may seem simple, it brings comfort, joy, and a reminder that people are thinking of them during the holidays.
This week, we were joined by volunteers from MNP in Strathroy as they visited Sprucedale Care Centre, Seasons Strathroy, and Strathmere Lodge. Together, we delivered hundreds of poinsettias generously provided by Thuss Greenhouses and Garden Centre. Smiles, kind words, and holiday cheer were shared along the way, making it another feel-good day for everyone involved.

Our first stop was at Sprucedale where staff member Olivia Froklage told myFM what the flowers mean to the residents.
She mentioned the residents always have a big smile on their faces when they receive the flowers.

Staff and volunteers then visited the residents at Strathmere Lodge and chatted with Family and Resident Liaison, Kristie Ouellette.
She says the residents and staff always look forward to delivery day.

Our final stop was Seasons Retirement Facility, where General Manger Ben Carter was nothing but smiles seeing the flowers being delivered.
He says not everyone can spend time with people they love around the holiday’s, but receiving a gift, no matter how small, can make a world of difference to the residents.
As Christmas gets closer, Project Poinsettia is an important reminder that not everyone can spend the holidays with loved ones, and small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
MNP Senior Manager Hillary Fleming joined myFM at the studio after the flowers were handed out.
MNP has been helping myFM hand out flowers for many years around the holiday’s and Fleming says they don’t plan on stopping any time soon.
