The manslaughter trial of 46-year-old Meggin Van Hoof, of Strathroy began in September but was delayed and adjourned in October. Legal arguments continued last week and are expected to resume today, with testimony scheduled for today and again Friday.
Much of the court time has been taken up by arguments over an abuse of process application brought forward by the defence earlier last week. Defence lawyer Geoff Snow alleges the Crown changed its theory, interfering with trial preparation and access to a witness list.
Crown Attorney David Tice of Toronto is expected to respond Monday. Van Hoof has pleaded not guilty in the 2015 death of 15-month-old Nathaniel McLellan.
