A transport truck fire caused traffic delays and briefly closed part of Highway 402 in Adelaide Metcalfe on Monday afternoon.
According to Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police, officers and the Adelaide Metcalfe Fire Department were called to Highway 402 eastbound, just east of Kerwood Road, around 12:34 p.m. on December 22, 2025, after receiving a report of a vehicle on fire.
Police say the driver was able to safely pull the truck onto the shoulder before the vehicle began to smoke and then caught fire.
Traffic moved slowly through the area, and the highway was temporarily closed at Kerwood Road while emergency crews responded. The truck has since been removed, and the highway has reopened.
No injuries were reported.
