If you’re wondering why the burned out former Scoops Variety store is still standing, so are a lot of people, including town staff.
A fire, which has been determined to have been deliberately set, tore through the vacant building at Caradoc and English Streets in the early morning hours of November 12th.
Strathroy-Caradoc CAO Rob Browning tells myFM the owner of the old Scoops has taken out a demolition permit and town staff believed the demolition would happen quickly. That has not been the case.
Browning says town staff have reached out to the owners for a more precise timeline. We’ll pass that along once we hear again from the town.
