The annual Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign has wrapped up, with nearly 300 drivers now facing impaired driving-related consequences. Between November 20, 2025, and January 1, 2026, OPP West Region officers conducted 3,095 spot checks across 13 detachment areas, which was the highest number of RIDE events carried out in the region in the past five years.
By the end of the campaign, officers laid 269 impaired driving charges and issued 40 warn-range suspensions.
In Ontario, there were 11,130 RIDE checks conducted in OPP-patrolled areas, resulting in 1,268 impaired driving charges and 150 warn-range suspensions. By comparison, the 2024 West Region Festive RIDE campaign saw 1,938 RIDE checks, leading to 292 impaired driving charges and 19 warn-range suspensions.
