This week Strathroy-Caradoc Council gave the green light for the purchase and installation of new playground equipment at the South Grove Meadows neighbourhood park in Ward two at the intersection of Lindsay Crescent and Elwood Street, in the Collins Way subdivision district. Park N Water Ltd. was awarded the contract to supply and install the playground equipment, with a total project cost of $453,422.35, not including HST.
Public input played an important role throughout the planning process. Town staff held several Public Information Meetings with residents living within 125 metres of the park to present preliminary design ideas and collect community feedback. A follow-up public meeting took place earlier this month to showcase the updated concepts. Following this engagement process, Council selected the preferred playground design.
