The Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation is proud to celebrate the remarkable success of its Season to Shine campaign—an initiative that united the community in support of high-quality care close to home.
Running from October 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026, the campaign concluded with every tree illuminated on the hospital grounds and an impressive $388,480 raised to advance the Hospital’s MRI priorities and address urgent equipment needs.
Season to Shine officially launched on Giving Tuesday with a festive tree-lighting celebration. The kickoff event brought together representatives from myFM, Foundation Board members, hospital leadership, dedicated SMGH Auxiliary volunteers, and valued community supporters. That evening, 10 trees were lit, marking an inspiring start to the campaign and reflecting $153,000 already raised toward the fundraising goal.
As the campaign continued, the glowing hospital grounds quickly became a source of pride and joy within the community. Staff, patients, families, and visitors shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many making special trips to experience the lights firsthand.
By the campaign’s conclusion:
$388,480 was raised, exceeding the original $250,000 goal
A significant number of donors directed their gifts specifically toward MRI support
$145,000 was allocated to the Hospital’s most urgent equipment needs, with final equipment selections now being confirmed in collaboration with the Hospital’s administrative team
The Foundation is pleased to announce that Season to Shine will return next year, launching once again on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2026, in partnership with the SMGH Auxiliary’s Christmas Store—continuing a tradition that brings light, generosity, and meaningful impact to the community.
“Season to Shine was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Michelle Hancock, President & CEO, Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation. “We’re deeply grateful to everyone who donated, attended, shared kind words, or simply paused to enjoy the lights. This generosity will translate into meaningful impact for patients and families across our region.”
