myFM teased the possibility earlier this week with Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Colin Grantham and Wednesday night it happened. The Municipality was awarded with an EDCO Award of Excellence for the 2025 Canvas & Culture Art Fest, held in September, in the category of Visitor Attraction and Tourism Product Development – Rural.
The Awards of Excellence are presented annually by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) and celebrate outstanding economic development initiatives that demonstrate innovation, collaboration, and community impact from across the province.
The Canvas & Culture Art Fest was made possible through a strong partnership between the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, the Downtown Strathroy Business Improvement Area (BIA), and The Wright Place. The event showcased local artistic talent, energized the downtown core, and welcomed both residents and visitors, further strengthening Strathroy-Caradoc’s reputation as a dynamic hub for arts, culture, and tourism.
The Municipality extends its sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of the Canvas & Culture Art Fest, including community partners, artists, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees. The Municipality went on to say this award reflects the collective effort behind the event and recognizes its meaningful economic and cultural impact on Strathroy-Caradoc.
