The Strathroy Firefighters Association and their Hydrant Heroes campaign will extend for the month of February and will cover all three response areas (Strathroy, Mt Brydges, Melbourne).
It’s pretty easy for residents to take part, first find a fire hydrant that is covered by snow or hard to access, clear a 3-foot radius around the hydrant, clear a path to the street so firefighters can access it quickly.
When that’s all said and done, take a photo of the cleared hydrant and message the Strathroy Firefighters Association Facebook page on messenger including the street location and that turns into one entry to possibly win a year’s supply of pizza from Dominos. Local firefighters say a few minutes with a shovel can make a life-saving difference.
