It’s Volunteer Week brought to you by the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc and today we learn more about local volunteer Matt Laberge who volunteers with the Strathroy Canada Day committee, with the Strathroy Jets, Snow Angels program…and whatever else comes up.
He tells us he does it because that’s what people did for him when he was growing up in this community. Every step of his life, he says people were volunteering to make this a better place to live, a safer place to live. So that’s what he learned and he’s glad to keep it going now that he owns a business here and still calls Strathroy home.
He calls volunteering the backbone of any good community and encourages people to get out and do it as it’s so rewarding.
He says so much work goes on behind the scenes that people don’t even know about and that’s all thanks to volunteers.
