A 14-year-old Strathroy native and now a resident of Goderich is stepping into the spotlight with the release of her new song, “I Don’t Know.” Maggie Grace recently released the track, which she co-wrote with international producer Tim Schou. The connection between the two began a few years ago when Maggie’s father met Schou while working in London.
The idea slowly came together, and the car rides are where much of the inspiration began. Maggie says she has wanted to be a singer for a while now.
Maggie told myFM she had created a small piano melody that later became her song “I Don’t Know,” after she worked on it with Schou.
When it came to songwriting, Maggie says she found the experience fun and exciting.
Working with Schou, who is known internationally as a producer, was a special experience for the young artist. Maggie says she enjoyed watching how he interacted with people on stage and learning from him throughout the process.
A music video for the song will be released on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
Maggie says she plans to continue writing and releasing music. She hopes listeners take away an important message from her song.
