The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc’s 2026 Budget has now been formally approved and is in effect.
Mayor Colin Grantham introduced the proposed Budget during a Special Council meeting on January 13, reflecting Council’s discussions and recommended changes. After additional review and amendments, Council adopted the final version on February 11. In accordance with current legislation, the amendment period has concluded, and no further changes may be made.
For 2026, the municipal portion of the property tax levy will increase by 4.53%. When combined with the 3.78% increase from Middlesex County and no increase from the Province (0.00%), the overall blended property tax increase is 3.80%.
For residential properties, this equates to an estimated increase of approximately $215.62 per $400,000 of assessed home value. For farmland, the increase is approximately $134.76 per $1,000,000 of assessed value.
Of that total increase, the municipal share represents about $145.73 per $400,000 of assessed residential value, or $91.08 per $1,000,000 of assessed farmland value.
Residents are encouraged to review budget information, including budget highlights and documents, on the Municipality’s website. Updates on the implementation of budget initiatives will be shared through the Municipality’s communication channels, including the website and social media.
