Area maple syrup producers are gearing up for a busy season with many ready to welcome the public with tours of the sugar bush and pancake breakfasts. Nelson McLachlin, co-owner of Fort Rose Maple Company near Parkhill tells myFM it’s been a great winter for maple syrup production.
Nelson says they open Saturday with their first pancake brunch of the season.
Nelson says their family didn’t originally start out with the business which has grown over the years out on Coldstream Road, near Parkhill.
They used to host school tours as well, but scaled things back a bit.
Fort Rose Maple Company has breakfast and brunch, wagon rides and tours from this weekend through to March 29th, including over March Break. Check out their website for full details. Fort Rose Maple Company
