Local fans have plenty to cheer about when it comes to hockey playoffs. In addition to the PJHL’s Mount Brydges Bulldogs and North Middlesex Stars already in their opening round playoff and the Jets into a division final versus Alvinston, the Strathroy Rockets have earned their spot in the playoffs.
The Rockets have secured a spot in the 2026 GOHL playoffs, but could be anywhere from 6th to 8th in the conference when the regular season wraps up Sunday. Despite a loss to LaSalle on Sunday, their win Saturday clinched the spot. Their first-round opponent has not yet been decided, but for sure it will be either Elmira, Chatham or St. Marys.
The Rockets still have two regular season games left. They play on the road Wednesday night and return home Saturday night. Both games are against the London Nationals.
