Ontario says it is expanding dementia supports in long-term care homes across the province. The province is investing $9 million over three years in a new Improving Dementia Care Program, with 17 homes selected to participate in the first year.
Ontario says the program will train staff in emotion based models of care to better support residents living with dementia.
The province adds that more homes will be included by 2027, alongside expanded behavioral specialized units.
