A small crowd gathered in the rain outside town hall on Friday to raise the flag for Parkinson’s Awareness.
That’s Parkinson’s Society of Southwestern Ontario Community Engagement Coordinator Kendra Stapleton who says events like this are so important.
Former long-time Strathroy councillor and Deputy Mayor Brad Richards was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2009.
Richards says there is help locally.
Parkinsons disease is a progressive neurological disorder that primarily affects movement. There’s no cure, but medications and therapies may help manage symptoms to improve daily life.
