Lambton College’s Sarnia campus is reopening today following a temporary closure after Friday’s fatal shooting. The incident marked the city’s first homicide of the year, when 20-year-old Dane Nisbet was killed and two others were injured at a campus bar.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to public safety. In response, the college is moving ahead with a phased return to normal operations.
Facilities reopening include the main campus, Fire School, Skilled Trades Training Centre, EarlyON Child and Family Centre, and Community Employment Services. Student supports will be available immediately, with classes set to resume Tuesday. The campus bar will remain closed until further notice.
