Women’s Rural Resource Centre Executive Director Elyssa Rose tells myFM why they’ve had to add on.
Rose says the province has come through in a big way with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and private donors have helped as well. She highlighted one in particular, Marilyn Buttery who Rose says played a huge role in helping to fund one of their new additions.
She talks about the first project.
Rose says phase 2 is mostly for the kids in their care focusing on a dedicated children’s room.
The Women’s Rural Resource Centre houses anywhere between 17 and 25 individuals, women and children, at any given time. Call their 24 hour helpline if you need support at 1-800-265-5390.
