The Ontario Provincial Police is reminding the public never to leave pets or people in hot vehicles as temperatures rise. Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the West Region OPP says it doesn’t take long for the inside of a car to heat up.
Even on relatively mild days, the temperature inside a car can rise rapidly, creating life-threatening conditions in a matter of minutes.
Officers are reminding residents to always double-check their vehicles before walking away and that simply cracking a window won’t do the trick.
