The Northern Tornadoes Project has confirmed that a tornado touched down southeast of London during Tuesday’s storm.
The tornado was reported in the Derwent and Belmont area. Investigators are still working to determine the tornado’s strength and official rating.
The Northern Tornadoes Project is also investigating other areas of storm damage, including parts of east London. It has not yet been confirmed whether that damage was also caused by tornado activity.
