The roar of motorcycles is once again in the air as riders hit the road to enjoy the warm spring weather. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt is hoping this will be a safe spring and summer for everyone.
He notes that in most motorcycle collisions, it is often the four-wheeled vehicles that are at fault. Schmidt is reminding riders taking their bikes out-possibly for the first time this season-to stay safe.
Last year, 47 motorcycle operators lost their lives on OPP patrolled roads. So far in 2026, six motorcycle related deaths have been reported.
