A Mount Brydges resident is facing several firearms-related charges following an investigation by the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service.
Police say they received information on May 25th about the possible manufacturing of firearms at a residence in Mount Brydges. Officers were provided with a partially assembled 3D-printed firearm and ammunition, which led to a criminal investigation.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Mount Brydges man was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, trafficking in a firearm, weapon, device or ammunition, possession of computer data for use in manufacturing a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released with conditions. The charges have not been proven in court.
Police say they remain committed to investigating illegal firearms activity and keeping the community safe.
Anyone with information about illegal firearms is encouraged to contact the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
