The village of Ilderton is celebrating a major milestone this weekend as it marks its 150th anniversary with three days of events recognizing its history, community spirit and local pride. Running from today through to Sunday, the celebration honours Ilderton’s roots as a village established in 1876, with a strong agricultural heritage and a longstanding tradition of volunteerism and community involvement.
Festivities begin tonight with an all-ages country concert featuring Genevieve Fisher, Max Smith and two-time CCMA Male Artist of the Year Jade Eagleson. The celebration continues Saturday with a morning parade and opening ceremonies, followed by two days of family-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy historical exhibits, community displays, an antique car and tractor show, artisan and food vendors, a Kids Zone, trivia, bingo and tractor pulls. Saturday also includes a movie night, while Sunday’s events feature a pancake breakfast, hot air balloon rides and open mic performances. Many activities are free thanks to the support of local sponsors.
The Ilderton 150 Committee is organizing the anniversary celebration in partnership with the Ilderton Agricultural Society, the Tri-County Heritage Club and numerous community volunteers.
A full schedule of events is available on the Ilderton 150 Facebook page.
